Basic Biscuits

  • 2C. All-Purpose Flour
  • 4tsp Baking Powder
  • ¼tsp Baking Soda
  • 1tsp Sugar
  • ½tsp Salt
  • 1¼C. Butter
  • ¾C. Milk

Instructions

Preheat oven to 450F.

Add all the dry ingredients to a large bowl and whisk together.

Add cold butter and cut into small pieces with a fork or knife till pieces are a crumbly texture mixed in the flour mixture.

Gently stir milk into the dry ingredients a little at a time while mixing until it is somewhat cohesive and slightly sticky. You might not need all the milk.

Place the dough on a floured surface and kneed about 10 times or until the dough is smooth. If dough is super sticky you may need to add a little more flour or if it is too dry add a little more milk.

Pat or roll dough till it is about 1-inch thick. Cut out the biscuits with a biscuit cutter. Place them on a large baking sheet.

Bake for 10-12min or until golden.
